From last 1 yr i am working with CAP Foundation(NGO).I saw the advertisement which is advertise on times of india on 29/10/2009-New Delhi.I am really interested for that course but i just want to know- do your organization provide placement after completing the course and what are the scope after completing this course.
2) I am writing from Kolkata and I did M.A. in Sociology from Kolkata University in the year of 1998 and did Community Management from Jadavpur University. I have been working in the social development sector for the last ten years.
3) I am very much interested to join in your Post Graduate Diploma In

1. The programme is meant for preparing development professionals for Rural Development. The kind of prospects for the passed out students include Jobs in Public, Private and NGO's Sectors. Also if so inclined, one can work as consultant for preparing project proposals for attracting funds as well as for executing, monitoring and evaluating and impact assessment works.
2. Since this programme is being launched jointly by two World class Institutions, namely, National Institute of Rural Development and University of Hyderabad, the quality of learning material will be of high order. For more effective management of learning resources, a large number of innovations with ICT applications will be used. Hence you may be assured that the job prospects for the passed out students will b e good. On its part, the institute will also facilitate in the job search process. However much will depend on the individual efforts of the students.

Myself XXXXXX, a mechanical engineer (Age 24) with more than 2year experience in a big steel company. As there was no scope for me realize and improve myself potential, i resigned the before an year. Ans: This Programme is basically designed to meet the growing demand of rural development professionals in Government, Private and NGOs Sectors. You being a Mechanical Engineer and if you complete this course, you will have better opportunities for job employment as well as self employment.
Since it is a distance mode education Programme, no on-campus selections are envisaged, however the Institute will facilitate job search as far as possible.

I came to know about the newly launched "First Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Sustainable Rural Development(PGD-SRD)" which will be jointly certified by University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad & NIRD, Hyderabad. Well, I am interested to do this course. I have certain queries regarding this course. Please clarify my queries regarding this programme.
(1) Is there any contact centre in Bhubaneswar(Odisha) as I am staying in Bhubaneswar. If not, then do I have to go to Hyderabad & can any accommodation facility will be provided there?
(2) Is it a distance education programme?
(3) Career Opportunities: Will I get any suitable job after completion of this course. If yes, in which sectors?
(4) Is there any summer project/internship in this course?
(5) Where the semester examinations will be conducted.
(6) I am a Graduate with Economics Honours. Also, I have done Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Economics(P.G.D.E.E) under distance mode from University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad. So, can this job help in getting a good job?
(7)Will the University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad & NIRD, Hyderabad provide any printed books or study materials for pursuing this programme.

Ans: With reference to your point wise query, following is informed:
1. Contact Centre at Bhubaneswar is likely to be there. Hence, you
will not be required to come to Hyderabad for Contact session.
2. Yes it is a distance education Programme
3. They will be job prospectus in public, private and NGO sectors.
The Institute will provide necessary assistance for placement.
However, the student himself/herself will have to make efforts.
4. There will be a project to be assigned to each enrolled students
which will be partly undertaken in the first semester and completed in
second semester. There will be no internship. The project work will
be evaluated at the contact centres.
5. The written examination will be conducted at the end of each
semester at the designated contact centre. The examination will be
preceded by the contact session at the Contact Centre itself.
6. As given under point 3, there will be good job prospects for the
passed out students of PGD-SRD
7. Yes, for all the courses printed material will be made available
to the enrolled students. There will be provision for sending the
course material in form of CDs/VCDs.

4) I visited www.nird.org.in website and thanks for giving valuable suggestion that I am eligible for do this programme. But I have to know that I am presently doing NREGS Computer operator cum Accounts Assistant in the O/o District Water Management Agency, Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh under FTE code: CRD/06320. Shall may I submit any No-Objection certificate from our Institution during the study period. Please give necessary instructions to me.
Ans: with reference the need for NOC, it is informed that since you are a Govt. Employee, you have to seek a no objection from your office. This is in your own interest.

While going through your Brochure the following points are not clear to me,
1. Term end exam. Centres-- name of places, whether any in Bihar State?
2. Criteria for admission?
3. Credits allotted to each Semester don't match with Semester's
Subject details.
Please specify the details, so that I could decide for applying.

1. The contact session and written examination will be organised at towards end of the each semester at contact centres. One such contact centre is likely to be at Patna.
2. After receiving the application forms, an Admission Committee will scrutinize the applications and will recommend for the admission of the applicants on the basis of their academic qualification and experience etc.
3. The programme has been divided into two semesters each of six months duration. All the courses will be of four credits requiring 30 hours of learning per credit. First semester will have four courses and a project of 3 credits while the second semester will have 3 courses and a project of four credits. A student will require to pass all the courses and complete a project satisfactorily to be eligible for the diploma.

I AM PRESENTLY WORKING WITH THE DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE , GOVT. OF TRIPURA AS AN AGRI OFFICER.I WNT TO PERSUE THE COURSE PGR-SRD IN DISTANCE LEARNING MODE. I HAVE FEW QUARRIES-
1) WHAT IF I COULD NOT ATTEND COMPULSORY CONTACT CLASS FOR SOME OFFICIAL REASON OR MY DEPT DOES NOT SPARE ME FOR 6-7 DAYS?
2) HOW WILL I BE GUIDED BY FACULTY/GUIDE FOR PROJECT WORK IF GUIDE IS IN GUWAHATI?
3) DO I NEED TO TRAVEL TO GUWAHATI FREQUENTLY FOR PROJECT WORK?
4) WHAT IF I AM SENT FOR OTHER TRAINING PROG OUTSIDE TRIPURA BY MY DEPT?
5) WILL THE ADMISSION PROCERURE WILL BE HELD AT GUWAHATI AS YOU MENTIONED TO VERIFY THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION?
Ans:
1. The attendance in the contact session is compulsory. Minimum attendance is 75%. Since the date of the contact session will be known much in advance. you can plan your tour programmes by requesting the competent authority of your department to not to send you for official work during that time. Further contact sessions will be followed by written semester end examination there. Hence you cannot escape participating in the contact session.
2. The nodal officer of the contact session can facilitate the project work by requesting the senior faculty near your place to guide the project work. In that case you will not have to go to Guwahati for this purpose.
3. Please see information given above.
4. All the application forms along with DD as well as attested copies of the High school / SSC / 10th as a proof of your date of birth and graduation certificates to the Programme Coordinator. The screening of all the applications will be done here and admitted candidates will be informed accordingly. The enrolled students will have to get their original certificates verified by the nodal officer of the contact centre in first semester at the time of contact session in first semester.
As you know the last date for receipt of application from the candidate from the north eastern region was initially scheduled to be 15th Dec 2009. Considering the difficulty in communication, the date has been extended to 31st Dec 2009.

I am 12th passed, Age-40 year, working in NGO. Experience about Village area of Gram Panchayat , village Labour . Specially agriculture related work. etc. Can I apply for Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Rural Development (PGD-SRD) [Distance Education Programme] as service candidates / NGO employer? I shall be very thankful if you could kindly send guideline regarding to above mention in subject.
Ans : Since you have not Graduated from any recognized university, it is regretted that you are not be eligible for applying to this programme.

I am an EX-Servicemen and I want to pursue PGD-SRD 2009-10. (The Distance Learning Program as published in DC Hyderabad dated 29/10/2009) Please clarify whether there are any fee concession for Ex-Servicemen personnel as given to SC/ST/PH.
Ans: Once admitted to the Programme, you will be required to pay the first instalment of Rs. 8500/- at the commencement of First Semester. The payment of the second and final instalment of Rs. 8500/- will be made in the beginning second semester. Further the payment will have to be made in form of DD in favour of National Institute of Rural Development, Payable at Hyderabad.
ii) For the present no concessions are encouraged for Ex – Servicemen.

Since I am working in Rural Development Department for 20 years, I request you to give exemption from Fee payment of Rs.17, 000/-
Ans: It is informed that since you are already working in Rural Development Department, you may submit a request to your senior officials for sponsoring you to this Programme. As such, there is no exemption / concession for
the employees of the Rural Development Department.

sir i want to know that should i have to pay the complete fee of Rs.17000/- at the time of joining the course, and can i pay it through cash or cheque. sir reply me soon so that i can start the process of joining the course.
Ans: Once admitted in to the Programme, one will have to deposit the first instalment of the Programme Fee. i.e Rs 8500/- at the beginning of the first semester. The second and final instalment of Rs 8500/- will be payable at the beginning of second semester. The payments will have to be made through DD in favour of National Institute of Rural Development, payable at Hyderabad.
The first semester will commence from first January, 2010 and will be over by 30th June, 2010 and second semester will commence from July and will be over by December 2010. The exams will be conducted in the last part of June and December for first and second semester respectively.

I completed my Bsc.(Horticulture) with marks 81.50 percent and I read an ad of NIRDs PG programme in local news paper LOKMAT yesterday in that ad ,it is mentioned that the last date of application is 30/11/2009. I am confused that this course is external or not. So please tell me about that.
Ans: As rightly observed by you the last date of receipt of application form along with DD of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 300 for SC/ST/PH) is 31-12-2009. Hence if you are interested in this programme you may visit our website www.nird.org.in and download the application form from it. Should you experience any difficulty in downloading the form you may send a request for the form to be sent by post by sending a self addressed envelope (12" x 10"), stamped ( Rs.10) to the undersigned.
Once admitted in to the Programme, you will have to deposit the first instalment of the Programme Fee. i.e Rs 8500/- at the beginning of the first semester.
Students belonging to SC/ST categories are required to pay their programme fee first and then submit their scholarship forms duly filled in all respects, to the Programme Coordinator office. The scholarship application form will be forwarded to the Department of Social Welfare, Government of the Andhra Pradesh for further action.
Students applying for reimbursement will also have to submit their original SSC or Metric and Graduation Certificates, Mark sheets, Education Gap Certificate (if any), Income Certificate, Caste Certificate, and Nativity Certificate within a month of their admission and registration, failing which their cases will not be considered for award of scholarship. After the verification of the original certificates by the Social/Tribal Welfare officer of the Government of Andhra pradesh, the certificates will be returned to the students. Original certificates should be submitted only after admission but not at the time of applying for Programme.
Students from the above category belonging to other States /Union Territories admitted to Programmes are also required to pay their Programme Fee first and claim reimbursement from the Social/Tribal Welfare Departments of their respective States & Union Territories (UT) on their own.

I want to know that col.no 6 (b) of the said application what type of documents to be attached along with the application for admission form downloaded? I am an Ex-I.A.F personal. Presently working in state government of Bihar.
Ans : The col.no. 6 b of application form requiring details of past professional experience, it is stated that if you fill the form about your previous work in IAF or any other organisation served by you, it will be useful while scrutinizing your application for admission.

1. When the admission will start for PGD-SRD course?
2. What I need to fill in APPLICATION NO because downloaded application form does not contain the application number?
3. Can I submit the application form in person instead of sending it by post?

1. The process of admission has already started. The Programme will commence from 1st January 2010.
2. You can fill the downloaded form and send it along with DD of Rs. 500/-(or Rs 300/- for SC / ST / PH) and attested copies of certificate of matriculation and degree. Upon receipt of your application, the number will be given by this office which will become your reference number for future correspondence, if any.
3. Yes, you can submit the form personally.
4. You can send the form by any means, as long as it reaches us in safe condition.

1. Division of semesters and around which month exams would be conducted.
2. How assignments, test, projects would be conducted and months of same.
3. As mentioned in brochure course duration is max 3 yrs, what does it mean?
Ans : 1. The first semester will commence from the 1st January 2010 and will complete on 30th June. The exam will be conducted in the last week of June. 2nd semester will commence from 1st July and will go on till 31st December. The examination will be conducted in last week of the December. The exams will be conducted at the contact centres.
2. The assignments will be sent to the Programme Coordinator and will be got evaluated by him. The assignments will be given in each semester, and will have a weightage of 20%.
3. If a student is not able to clear the courses of both the semesters, he / she will be allowed to appear in the subsequent semesters till he / she completes all the courses. The period of completing the courses has been kept has three years. If a student is unable to complete within the three years, he / she will have to re-register for the programme by paying half the Programme Fee. |
